Michael Dockery is a lifelong South Georgian, a husband, father, educator, and community servant running for State Representative with one simple mission: to put people first again.

 

Raised in the values of faith, hard work, and personal responsibility, Michael believes leadership starts in the home — and extends into every classroom, every neighborhood, and every small town across our region.

A Life Built on Service

Michael’s heart for service began long before he ever stepped into a classroom or onto a campaign trail. He spent 10 years in uniform, serving his country with honor, discipline, and a commitment to the people standing beside him.

 

Those years — the long nights, the grit, the focus on mission over self — shaped the way he approaches every challenge today. They also instilled in him the belief that real leadership means putting others first, especially when it’s hard.

A Teacher Who Shows Up Every Day

For Michael, serving South Georgia isn’t a slogan — it’s his day-to-day life.

 

As a middle school teacher, he has seen firsthand the challenges our families face: parents working overtime to make ends meet, students falling behind because they lack basic resources, and teachers stretched thin while trying to give every child a chance to succeed.

 

Michael knows our community’s struggles because he lives them — in the schools, in the neighborhoods, and on the doorsteps of the people he meets every week.

A Family Grounded in Community

Michael and his wife, Monica, are raising their daughter Maggie in the same South Georgia soil that shaped them. Their home is built on the same values that define the region: faith that sustains, family that strengthens, and community that supports one another when times get hard.

 

Every decision Michael makes as a candidate is guided by one question:

“Is this what’s best for South Georgia families like mine?”

For too long, the people of rural South Georgia have been treated like an afterthought in Atlanta.

 

Michael is running for State Representative to change that.

 

He’s not running for a title. He’s not running for personal gain.

He’s running to restore the focus back to the people — the farmers, teachers, loggers, small business owners, first responders, and working families who make South Georgia strong.

 

When Michael says he’s running to serve, he means it.
