MICHAEL DOCKERY
ABOUT ME

My name is Michael Dockery, and I’m a lifelong South Georgian, a dedicated educator, a husband and father, and now—a candidate for the Georgia State House.
I was born and raised in Coffee County, Georgia. I come from a family rooted in hard work, integrity, and a deep belief in doing right by your neighbor. I graduated from Coffee High School and later earned my degree from The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina—a place that instilled in me the values of discipline, leadership, and service above self.
After college, I entered the classroom and began a career in public education. While teaching in Charleston, South Carolina, I met my wife, Monica. We taught in the same school, shared a deep belief in the power of education, and eventually built our life together on the foundation of shared values and faith. Today, Monica and I are raising our daughter, Maggie, with the same principles we were raised on—faith, family, service, and community.
We moved back home to South Georgia to raise our family close to our roots. I now teach in our local public schools, where I see firsthand the challenges and opportunities our students, families, and communities face every single day. My work as an educator has not only been a profession—it’s been a calling, and it has shaped the way I approach leadership: with patience, accountability, and a belief in the potential of every person I serve.
Our district—made up of hard-working families in Atkinson, Lanier, Ware, and parts of Coffee County—deserves a representative who not only understands our values, but lives them. I am not a career politician. I’m a teacher, a father, and a neighbor who believes deeply in public service. I’m running because I believe we need common-sense conservative leadership that puts people first—not political gain.
I believe in transparent government, responsible spending, strong schools, good roads, safe communities, and protecting our rights. I’m not running to be something—I’m running to do something. To be accessible, to listen, and to carry your voice with conviction.
Public service isn’t new to me—it’s how I was raised, it’s how I live, and it’s how I plan to lead. This campaign isn’t about me—it’s about us. Our home. Our future. Our shared stake in making this district the best place to live, work, raise a family, and grow old with dignity.
It would be the honor of my life to represent you in the Georgia House of Representatives. And if given that chance, I promise to show up, listen hard, work honestly, and never forget who I work for.
Let’s do this—together.
